Ans.1)  For physical work to happen there must be energy transfer take place to or from a body. This implies that without transfer of energy physical work is not possible. A body to which energy is transferred, we say work has done on it while a body from which energy is transferred , we say work has done by it. In general, work done on a body is taken as positive work while work done by body is taken negative.
